Queen Latifah

Dana Elaine Owens - better popularly referred to as Queen Latifah - is an American actress, rapper and a singer. in film, music and television, Queen Latifah has won the award of two Screen Actors Guild Awards (two Image Awards), a Grammy Award, six more Grammy nods and has been nominated for the Emmy Award. Queen Latifah's parents were Lancelot and Rita Owens. They were both police officers. Rita was a Newark New Jersey teacher who taught at Irvington High School. Their divorce occurred when Latifah was ten years old. Latifah was brought up in the Baptist church and she attended Catholic high school located within Newark New Jersey.
